Butterflies are a great way to add whimsy and brightness to a room when decorating. Whether you are attempting to capture a spring day strolling through the garden, a magical fairy land for your child, or are simply bringing the outdoors inside, butterflies add an alluring and fanciful addition to your theme.

Look at your bathroom vanity sets and tops. They need to be organized. Remove the clutter by throwing out anything that’s old. Afterwards, you can get more space for you to put on your makeup, do your hair or, if you are a guy, shave your face.

Counter tops and flooring are not too expensive to change and make another big difference in the look of the bathroom. Choosing the right shower stall will make the selection of floor and counter top easier. Just pick things to match and coordinate. You can purchase a ready to install tub and shower unit, or a stand alone shower stall in fiber glass or glass and metal. you will need shower doors or best shower curtains to hold the water in. Shower doors come with metal frames or as frame less doors. You can also have a ceramic tile shower area built.

Black construction paper or poster board – cut out silhouettes of bats, mice, cats, spiders, or any creature that gives you goose bumps. Cut out a lot of these and tape them along the walls, windows, or even up the stairs.

If you are low on cash, but need to remodel your kitchen cabinetry, a great way to save money is by ditching cabinets altogether. Set up some nice shelving on the wall with canisters to store your items and use baskets to store larger groceries you may need. This creates a really neat shabby chic look that looks great in old colonial homes.

String fishing line across the ceiling of a room or another element such as a curtain rod and attach butterflies to the string. This will give a whimsical feel, as though the butterflies are floating through the air. You may even want to suspend them at different levels in an area like an atrium or porch for a truly outdoor experience. In a child’s room, use a clip so the child can move the butterflies back and forth across the room for fun, magical playtimes.

Keep the kitchen in good repair. It doesn’t cost much to have scratches and bumps fixed. If you have busted fixtures or electrical outlets, have them repaired with good materials.

To top things off, you will be amazed at the difference that new knobs, fixtures, and hardware can make in a bathroom. Add a couple of lamps for subtle lighting and some decorative touches of your own and you have a brand new bathroom without spending a king’s ransom in order to do so. The shower curtain and ‘guest’ towels should be your largest splurges in your bathroom, as they will tie the room all together. You shower curtains and towels will blend the colors and designs in order to create the overall atmosphere you should be hoping to achieve in your bathroom. And all of this can be accomplished one step at a time no matter how sparse your budget may be.
